Why You Keep Overthinking the Same Decision
Where the decision is sitting
Bring to mind the decision you've been circling. The one that gets loud on your drive home, in the shower, when you're falling asleep.
Where it stays can reveal why you keep overthinking the same decision, and what's keeping you from moving forward.
These are the three I see most often.
In your head
You’ve turned it into a research project. You journal about it, make the list, run it past the three people whose judgment you trust most. The answer always seems to be one more Google search away. It never is.
What you're waiting for is clarity, and your thinking mind hasn’t found that. Meanwhile, you're ignoring the nudge your intuition keeps giving you.
In your throat
You know what you want to say. You're waiting until you can say it in a way nobody will question or judge.
You don't feel ready to claim what your intuition already told you. So it sits there unspoken, under the guise of getting more polished.
In your heart or gut
This one is more subtle. Your intuition has already answered, and it came as a calm knowing. You're just not ready to act on it yet.
So you put it on the back burner for later, but later keeps moving, and the feeling it arrived with doesn’t go away.
Which one sounds familiar?
Three different holding patterns while your intuition waits to be acted on.
Most of us have a go-to. Mine is my head, which is pretty predictable for someone who spent a career in operations.
I still catch myself doing it. My intuition nudges me with a yes feeling, and then I go looking for a reason that makes it a logical decision.
What’s changed is how long I spend looking. This summer I started to develop as a psychic medium. It doesn't connect to a business goal, and I’ve never once thought, “oh hey, I think I’ll be a psychic medium one day.” But after the loss of a loved one, I started feeling her energy around me and had no idea what to do about that, so when a teacher I follow opened the development circle, I signed up. Two weeks, start to finish.
And it turns out, I can totally connect with loved ones in spirit (that's a story for another time). The more I quiet my mind and act on my intuition, the more I trust it.
Whichever is your go-to, where you start is the same
You quiet the mind first so you can connect with your intuition.
That looks like noticing the loop you’re in, grounding to drop into your body, and then listening with curiosity instead of trying to solve it.
You'll notice the loop getting shorter. It doesn’t go away completely (because you're human), but it stops being the thing that keeps you from moving forward.
The women who finished our summer season still have thought loops. What changed is how fast they catch them.
Oh, and most of them made the big decisions they'd been circling for months. The women still deciding named that feeling their way through stopped being so intimidating.
Somewhere to practice
Quieting the mind is the part you can do on your own (although it's more fun with others). It can take just a few minutes and be practiced in the moment to catch the overthinking when it starts.
That's the first of five stages: quiet the mind, connect with your intuition, claim it out loud, act on it, and trust it. I call it the intuition loop.
The next four need mirrors, which is why this is a coven and not a course.
Grounded Coven is a full season of practicing all five, alongside women doing the same work.
It opens and closes with a private Akashic Records reading, each recorded, and includes a written Soul Map so the guidance stays with you. Your opening reading shows which stages are asking for your attention and offers personalized tools to support you. From there, you'll practice with other women circling similar questions, integrating the lessons and guidance offered in your reading.
In between, there are five gathering calls, four peer mirror calls, monthly group readings, a short lesson before each gathering, live rituals paired with the moon and season, and a group chat to share and connect anytime.
Grounded Coven opens seasonally. You can find the dates, what's included, and current pricing below.
